Aden Craft & Gift Shop looking for volunteers

The Friends of Aden Country Park are looking for more volunteers to help out in the Aden Craft & Gift Shop. With summer on the way, the Friends want to open the Aden Shop for longer hours. Currently the shop shuts at 3pm, Monday to Friday, and that's just when the park starts to get busy.

A North-East couple hoping to win their dream wedding in a radio competition are hosting a charity event at Aden Country Park this weekend.

Aden Attractions Open for New Season

The award-winning Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, Café/Restaurant, Caravan & Camping Park and Craft & Gift Shop in Aden Country Park, Mintlaw, have all opened their doors for the 2013 season.

Aden Bike Challenge rescheduled for June

The Aden Bike Challenge, cancelled at the start of last month due to bad weather, has been rescheduled to take place in the summer. Snow and hail put a halt to the March 10 event and the plans of hundreds of local cyclists, but organisers were still keen to build on the success of the first event last year.

Funding Awarded for new Aden Allotments

The Aden Community Allotment Association (ACAA) is delighted to announce that they have secured funding totalling over £77,000 from the Keep Scotland Beautiful Climate Challenge Fund (CCF) to develop allotments and community gardens in the grounds of Aden Country Park in Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire.

Mothers to be treated at Aden Country Fair

Treat mum to an enjoyable day out this Mother's Day with the annual Aden Country Park Mother's Day Country Fair. There will be a range of activities, facilities and stalls on offer including a good mix of craft and farmer’s market stalls. The event takes place on Sunday 10th March, 11am to 4pm, in the beautiful surroundings of Aden Country Park in Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire.

Heritage Fair set to Celebrate Rural Life in Buchan

Aden Country Park in Mintlaw is to host the first Rural Life Heritage Fair on Sunday 10th of March 2013, 11am to 4pm. The event will celebrate the local culture and farming traditions unique to Aberdeenshire, illustrating what life was like for country people in the past and how it has shaped Aberdeenshire’s countryside today.

Buchan Bike Challenge Returns to Aden

Families, individuals, and businesses are all being encouraged to get on their bikes this Spring to take part in Buchan’s favourite family friendly bike ride, the Aden Bike Challenge. The cycling event will take place on Sunday 10th March and will take in some of the most beautiful sights in the local Buchan area.

Friends of Aden to Hold Open Evening Event

Having nearly reached its first year of operation, the Friends of Aden Country Park would like to invite local folk along to an open evening event, to be held in the Aden Park Theatre, inside the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, on Tuesday 26th February at 19:30.

Aden Craft & Gift Shop Opens for Season

The Friends of Aden Shop in Aden Country Park, Mintlaw is to open its doors after a successful trading period over Christmas. The Aden Shop offers a wide range of locally made crafts and gifts and will open for business from 10.30am on Monday 14th January 2013.

Aden Plays New Sound with Festival of Music

As part of sound, the North East Scotland's festival of new music, Aden Country Park will be hosting “Daniel’s Beard: Music and Nonsense” on Friday 16th November at 1pm in the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum Theatre.

Christmas Shopping at Aden Gift Shop

Christmas shoppers are being given an opportunity to get presents early this year at the Gift Shop in Aden Country Park, Mintlaw. The Aden Gift shop offers a wide range of locally made crafts and will remain open throughout the winter months, with the addition of special evening opening times on the run up to Christmas.

Growing interest sought for Aden allotments

Are you interested in growing your own fruit and veg but don’t have the room? Would you like to save money by growing your own? Or perhaps you would like the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, reduce stress, improve well-being, are get some exercise whilst enjoying nature? Whether you’re an individual interested in obtaining an allotment or perhaps an organisation, school or community group that is interested in being involved with a community garden, the newly formed Aden Community Allotment Association (ACAA) wants to hear from you.

Aden to host haunting Halloween event

Wade deep into the dark woods of Aden Country Park, Mintlaw for a Halloween carnival of curious creatures in the woody wonderland of Aden Country Park. The haunting Halloween event will be held on Saturday 27th October, 6.30pm, starting from the courtyard area in front of the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum.

Aden Community Consultation Points Way Forward

Following the community consultation carried out in 2010/2011 where the “Making the Most of Aden Country Park” paper based and online questionnaire was made available throughout Aden Country Park and at several local events and forums, we felt it was important to provide feedback on what you said, and what we did.

A Rare Day Out at Aden Vintage Tractor Day

This year’s annual vintage tractor working day at Aden Country Park should prove to be the best yet. There will be a rare chance to see a wide variety of vintage tractors ranging from the 1930s to the 1960s. Other attractions include an opportunity to see the newly digitised Morrison Collection of local rural photographs, Clydesdale Horse ploughing, wellie wanging, traditional Scottish music by the Buchan Heritage Players, access to the award winning Aberdeenshire Farming Museum and Hareshowe Farm, and a chance to visit the newly opened Aden Shop.

Friends of Aden and Willowbank join forces to open Aden Shop

The Friends of Aden Country Park and Willowbank Day Services are to start a new venture together by working in partnership to manage and administer the Aden Shop located in the scenic, calming setting of Aden Country Park in Mintlaw. The Aden Shop is to open on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September tying in with the annual vintage tractor day event.
